I think singlets are underrated and have probably been synonymous with a few polarising sub cultures like gym bros or stereotypes of the old wife beater. But really its just a garment. They're comfy & unrestrictive as well as freeing, its great the not hide behind your clothes and feel the sun and breeze on your skin. I think we all need more of that.
